Its been very interesting seeing channels on XM evolve. I started thinking about which stations have evolved alot recently. The 80’s on 8 and Fred seem to jump out at me like a sore thumb. Since Rick Stacy has taken over The 80’s you tend to hear less bad 80’s rap as well as alot less repetition and just the general flow is alot better. I still think the one thing that’s missing are shows. I’m not a huge fan of the ipod format, but other people love it. Also as recently Fred has really grabbed my attention. The programming they’ve integrated in along with Fred Essentials back about a month ago really got my attention.

So, which XM station has really grown into one of your favorites ?

XM has new show starting on Monday, June 19 called Offstage. As XM describes the show. Important artists do their own shows. There are no rules. They can say or play anything. Offstage is where XM turns over the music library to the artists, and lets them do a show their way, with a different artist each month. Hear the stories, the craziness, eclectic character and the personal playlists of artists that make a difference on XM’s Offstage.

The 1st guests on Offstage will be Joe Elliot & Phil Collen of Def Leppard. XM turns over the keys to both Joe Elliott and Phil Collen to create their own radio shows. No rules. No restrictions. Both Joe and Phil pick the songs from their personal archives, tell stories, whip out instruments and do anything and everything they want, on their terms. Total creative freedom. Radio the way they think it should sound.

The show will air Monday, June 19 at 6PM ET on XM 41 - Boneyard

Encores will air:

Wednesday, June 21 at 9AM ET | Boneyard - XM 41
Friday, June 23 at 2PM ET | Boneyard - XM 41
Saturday, June 24 at 3PM ET | Boneyard - XM 41
