Well here’s some good news the well traveled Rick Stacy is coming to XM Radio as Program Director. I’ve listened Rick in 2 different cities Atlanta & Fresno. I liked the job he did in both cities. I actually met him in both cities as well…super super nice guy. I’m hoping this means that The 80’s on XM 8 will finally get the attention it needs….very nice add here I think Rick is a nice fit here.

I’ve been bombarded with emails today asking about my slant on the new commercial stations. Alot of people are outraged by the entire thing. Well personally I’m not outraged @ all. Here’s why:
1- XM really got the short end of the stick on this one. Clear Channel was very methodical about the whole thing and possibly had this planned but that’s merely heresay.
2- XM is at least trying to make up for it with new stations so they still have the most commercial free channels
3- They are playing these commercials on channels from what I understand are the least listened to…I mean imagine if they got stuck doing this on one of the decades channels…that would really suck
What else can I say about this hopefully this will be one of those live and learn things. XM is doing what they can to make the best of a bad situation and as a customer at least they are trying to fill some voids. It wouldnt surprise me if the content on the new commercial channels goes downhill…way downhill.
The bottomline is that the whole thing is ridculous and ticks me off in one sense, but like I said considering the channels Im not to mad about it. Sorry Ryan M….I know this sucks for you and you have a very legit gripe, but I really think XM is doing the best they can with this all things considered.
Today Gary Hart was a guest on The Bob Edwards Show. Very Interesting show. Give it a listen if you havent already. The replay will be on all day on XMRO and on XMPR @ 8PM ET on Channel 133 XMPR.
I never liked Gary Hart much but I know have a new respect for him altogether….anyways I found it informative ![]()
