And yet another X Country programming note. I was wondering how long it was going to be until we started hearing replays from MusicFest and low and behold on Friday we’re going to get treated to Cross Canadian Ragweed in a performance recorded live at this year’s MusicFest at Steamboat Springs. For those the didn’t hear this the 1st time set your XM2Gos for Friday 8 pm ET.

For those newcomers to X Country….this is a must listen.

On tonight’s Explore Music on XM 110 tonight the music of Aaron Copland will be featured. I heard this show awhile back and for those who are kind of interested in Classical Music Aaron Copland is really good intro. He is definitely one of my favorite modern composers. I’m not one for a long symphony personally which is what I love about Copland’s compositions. You might even recognize quite a few compositions such as Appalachian Spring, Rodeo, and Fanfare for the Common Man.

I just wanted to mention this show because I enjoyed the first time I listened to it. I admit I’m not the biggest classical music fan, but I really Copland. Give it a listen if you dare.

I cant get over how many emails I got about Smoke Stack. Why XM isn’t reairing Smoke Stack is a complete mystery to me. This show is just getting better every week. The only thing I would love to hear more of is live footage. Thinking off the top of my head something like The Allman Brothers at The Fillmore or even Cross Canadian Ragweed live.

We’ll see what happens, but the thing I love about this show is that it is like Deep Tracks for this genre of music. I hope XM is listening to the XM Nation on this one. Its been awhile since we’ve seen some channel additions….how cool would that be.

Ok I’ll shut up about Smoke Stack…well I’ll try anyways :)

XM seems to be signing on college conferences sporadically. You Big East fans now will be able to tune into to Basketball and Football. The 1st broadcast is on February 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET on XM Channel 200 when the University of Pittsburgh Panthers take on the Providence College Friars.
